Hi Everyone! 

I'm looking forward to seeing all of our happy members at NACE Family Feud on August 16^th at the Intercontinental Tampa Westshore!

Your executive board is ALL FIRED UP, as many of us recently returned from “The Biggest Little City in the World”… RENO, NV!

The NACE Experience! 2011 conference was bigger and better this year, and we were all so thankful for the opportunity to participate.

Our chapter REP-RE-SENTED with 9 attendees, and a nomination for Chapter Program of the Year!  No win for us, but hi-fives all around for an amazing job and an outstanding event, it was well-recognized! 

The National Conference is always such a learning experience.  Several of your local board members had a chance to sit with the National Board’s officers and listen to all the new happenings and workings at the National office. 

New programs and enhancements are coming your way, to include:

• NACE-U, a new way to approach learning through NACE and earning your CPCE
• several new online portals including a possible NACE youtube.com channel
• NACE idea swaps
• additional business partners benefits
• member benefits, branding and more! 

The biggest news I can finally and official share, is that our Tampa chapter has been selected to host one of 3 Regional Leadership conferences for NACE National, January 21-23, 2012, right before The Special Event hits Tampa Bay! 

The National office anticipates this to be the biggest leadership conference ever, as many attendees will fly into our area for both events that week.  It’s sure to be a busy time for our members, and a major boost to the local economy and our businesses!  Get ready to buckle down, we will be asking for your help to ensure a fabulous, record breaking event!

The Tampa Bay NACE chapter is FULL of exceptional companies and professionals who celebrate success daily.  We want to help share that information with others, so please let us know if you have an article about your company, a new product or service, or any buzzworthy news you'd like to shout from the rooftops.  We want to help others hear you!

Please remember that during the month of August we will be collecting school supplies for our “Back-to-School” Drive benefiting two child care centers – Dimples Playground and Community Pride Child Care Center. 

A list of supplies needed is provided below, and we area also seeking volunteers to help deliver the collected items to the children on Thursday, August 16th.

TAX FREE WEEKEND is August 12th-14th, so while you're out shopping for your little students, PLEASE add a couple of extra items to your shopping cart to help those in need. 

Here are some ideas: 

- Backpacks

- Lunch Boxes

- WASHABLE Jumbo crayons

- #2 Pencils

- Colored Pencils

- WASHABLE markers

- Glue sticks

- Construction paper

- Rulers

- Spiral Notebooks

- Folders

- Gently used or new clothing (from toddler sizes through Age 12), including shoes, belts, socks, etc. 

Please bring your donations to our August NACE meeting, or you are welcome to drop them off at the Anglo Couture Studio at 689 Central Avenue, Suite 101, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.

Would you like to help give back to your Tampa Bay NACE chapter?  Have you been looking for a committee to join, but not sure which one works best for you?  Well, here are a couple of options that might fit!

*NEW* Committee: Awards

Each year, the Tampa Bay NACE chapter goes through the process of submitting our chapter for National NACE awards, which are handed out at the NACE Experience!  This past year, we submitted for Chapter Program of the Year (clubNACE), but sadly did not win.  In an effort to get ahead of the game, I'm looking for volunteers NOW to help gather information and assist the chapter in choosing the best programs, members, etc. to be nominated for 2011 National awards. 

 Committee: Elections

It'll be here before you know it...November elections for your Tampa Bay NACE Executive Board.  The election process starts early though, as nominations need to be collected early and shared with our chapter, so if you'd like to be a part of the future of your Tampa Bay NACE chapter, please join this committee and help cultivate our future leaders.

The July Tampa Bay NACE meeting was held at the beautiful Tampa Yacht and Country Club, and featured social media networking expert Ginger Rockey Johnson.  Ginger shared with us valuable information on networking Do's and Don'ts, where you should be focusing your best social networking efforts, and most importantly WHY social networking is valuable in the first place.

Prior to the meeting, VP of Membership Aymee Brace held a New Member Orientation that helped introduce some of our new members not only to each other but to what our chapter has to offer. Thank you to all of our new members who attended. We are grateful for your support.

Once the meeting began, guests enjoyed an array of hor d'oeuvres and small plated dishes including chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and even a sushi bar!
